Recommendations for Price Setting
Incorrect price-setting not only affects the competitiveness of your products but can also lead to the blocking of your products or even the entire account. Here you will find the recommendations that will help you avoid this.
1) Do not include overseas offline shipping costs (default shipping price) in the product price
If you include the overseas shipping costs in your product's price, the final price for the customers whose countries are covered by Joom Logistics will appear two or three times higher. So they will need to pay twice for the logistics, which makes your products less attractive.
It means that your conversion rate and purchase rate will be much lower.
2) Set the accurate weight of your products
Shipping costs for customers from countries Joom Logistics covers are calculated to the product's weight and added to the final price.
Always indicate the actual weight, which includes its packaging. A slight difference of 20-50 grams is acceptable.
If your product includes a gift, make sure it does not creates a weight difference of more than 50-100 grams. We recommend you choose lightweight gifts such as small samples and mask sheets.
⚠️PLEASE NOTE: When the weight of the product you stated noticeably exceeds the actual one, this is considered a fraud. Such products can be blocked and even lead to the suspension of your account.
3) Avoid overpricing
Overpricing means that price of your product is unreasonably high for no apparent reason.
Negative impacts of overpricing:
- Lowers the purchase rate
- Damages the image of your store, account, and as a result, of the whole marketplace
- Joom has a right to block products with unreasonably high prices so it can lead to product and account suspension
4) Check if product price and offline shipping prices are specified correctly
If you upload products via Merchant Panel:
- Go to the Products page in your Joom account;
- Click on the Product Name of the product you want to check;
- Click on the Edit Product button;

Q&A
Q: What if I include the shipping cost in the product price?
A: The final price for customers in JL-supported countries will include both merchant shipping price, JL shipping price calculated on the weight, and product price. Customers will need to pay two times for the shipping.
Q: What if I set the product's weight higher than real?
A: Your product will have a higher total price because the JL shipping cost is calculated based on the weight. It makes your product too expensive and unattractive for the customers.
