Online and Offline Shipping Invoices
The calculating mechanism for the Joom shipping fee depends on many complicated variables. Therefore, we cannot provide you with the exact tariffs but can explain all the basic calculating schemes:
An order can be shipped only offline
If an order cannot be shipped online (for example, if there is no logistics channel for the parcel, or the parcel’s dangerous kind, size etc. is not suitable for the online shipping), it should be shipped offline.
In this case, you choose a shipping provider and pay for the shipping by yourself without Joom being involved in the process.
Merchant Revenue will be calculated according to the following equation:
Merchant revenue = product price without VAT + offline shipping price without VAT - Take Rate - Discount amount (if any) |
Offline shipping price is the default shipping price or the shipping price you set for different destinations. The price a client will see while placing the order sums up the product price and the default shipping price / the price for a specific destination.
⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: shipping price for different destinations must be above zero to avoid any losses. Please refer to the article Shipping Price by Country to learn more details.
An order can be shipped either online or offline
If a parcel can be shipped either online or offline, and you want to ship it online, you can use Joom Logistics services as the third-party shipping provider.
In this case a customer will see the offline shipping price (the default shipping price or the price you set for the specific destination), the parcel will be shipped via Joom Logistics and you will have to pay the amount that was actually spent on shipping the order. You can check the amount for online shipping in the JLD invoice.
Merchant Revenue will be calculated based on the product and online shipping price and according to the following equation:
Merchant Revenue = Product Price - Platform’s Take Rate amount + Offline shipping price - Joom Logistics Shipping Price - Discount amount (if any) |
An order can be shipped only online
If a parcel can be shipped only online, the shipping § will be estimated by Joom Logistics and withdrawn from a customer.
You can check the amount charged for a specific period in two invoices: both RJL invoice and JLO invoice will display the same amount. According to the Joom JLO invoice, this amount must be withdrawn from you. However, the same amount you see in the RJL invoice must be paid to you. As a result, shipping via Joom Logistics doesn’t cost you anything as the customer has already paid for it.
Merchant Revenue will be calculated based on the product price and according to the following equation:
Merchant Revenue = Product Price - Platform’s Take Rate amount - Discount amount (if any) |
An order have to be shipped offline even though it is suitable for online shipping
Sometimes in rare cases a parcel cannot be shipped online, even though the system chooses Joom Logistics as the shipping provider. The parcel will be returned to you and you will have to ship it offline.
In this case you will receive the Joom Logistics shipping fee (the price withdrawn from a customer for shipping the order), however you will have to pay to the shipping provider by yourself.
Merchant Revenue will be calculated based on the product and shipping price and according to the following equation:
Merchant Revenue = Product Price - Platform’s Take Rate amount + Joom Logistics Shipping Price - Discount amount (if any) |
