How to fill in files with product information

Basic information about your products is called a product attribute. In this article, you will find instruction on how to fill in Joom templates when you create or edit a product.

Basic rules

  • Maintain the file structure. Don’t change column names and don’t add new columns. Don’t delete or edit pre-filled information in the 1–3 rows.
  • Don’t change the names of columns.
  • Fill in all required rows and fields; otherwise, the system will throw an error.
  • Provide all the recommended attributes to make your products attractive to buyers.

Product attributes

The product attribute must be the same for all variants of one product.

Products have their own category-specific attributes. Please refer to this section for more information.

Product SKU

It is a unique product identifier that is used for all products and variants. 

Requirements:

  • Product SKU for all variants has to be the same; however, variant SKU has to be unique.
  • Your product SKU can contain Latin letters and numbers only.
  • The maximum length is 128 characters.

Name

It is a title of a product that is shown to customers. The title should include: purpose of the product (what is it), brand name, specifics (specifics such as size, color, gender, material, and condition).

Requirements:

  • A title must be written in English. Add spaces between words.
  • It must be easy to read and understand.
  • The maximum length is 150 characters.
  • Avoid using CAPITAL letters or lowercase letters only.

Description

It is an attribute for adding product main characteristics. This information will be shown to customers.

Formula: attribute name: an attribute value

Example: Material: Cotton 100%

Requirements:

  • The description must be written in English.
  • The maximum length is 10,000 characters.
  • Don’t add images or contact information.
  • Avoid using only CAPITAL letters or lowercase letters.

Search Tags

Search tags are keywords that help users find your products easily.

Requirements:

  • The search tags must be written in English.
  • Each tag must be separate tags by commas.
  • The maximum tag quantity is 10 for a product. The system will ignore extra tags.

Labels

It is keywords that help to group your products for internal purpose.

Requirements:

  • Labels must be written in English and separated by commas.
  • The maximum length is 20 characters.
  • You can create 5 labels for a product.

Brand

 

The brand name provided by the brand owner.

Not required for non-branded products. If you fill in this field, you may be asked to provide proof of resale or ownership rights.

Landing Page URL

URL to the product page on other platforms.

Product Main Image URL

We recommend uploading a square image. If you upload a non-square picture, the closest square image will be selected as the main.

Requirements:

  • Provide a direct link to the main image of your product.
  • The minimum resolution should be 550×550 pixels or higher.
  • Side ratio should be between 1:1 and 3:4.
  • High-quality and frontal image.
  • The image can be square or rectangular.

Avoid the following:

  • Adding frames and watermarks to the picture.
  • Using photos provided by customers.
  • Uploading duplicate images.
  • Including words such as “HOT, SALE, NEW” etc. on the picture.

Extra Image URLs (max 20)

Additional images to showcase your product in detail.

Requirements:

  • Images should be added in a single cell and separated by spaces. Avoid using commas or semicolons.
  • A maximum of 20 images are allowed.
  • All images should refer to the same product.
  • Show the product from different angles and perspectives, avoiding duplicates of the main product or variant images.

Suggested Category ID

If you are unsure about the product category your product belongs to, you can leave this field blank. We will determine the product category ourselves. However, specifying the product category will help us moderate the product faster.

Dangerous Kind

This field is used to determine the type of product. It is required for logistical purposes.

To enter the product attribute “dangerous kind” correctly, please choose from the following variants (for CSV and ERP):

  1. Create a store.
  2. Look for the Store ID on the store page, located to the right of the store's name.
  3. Fill in the Store ID in the file.
  4. If you have multiple stores, specify the ID of the specific store you want to add products for.
  5. Remember to fill in the Store ID in the file.
  6. If you have more than one store, indicate the ID of the specific store you want to add products for.

A high-quality image with an extended product description. The text in such images should be localized for the target region.

Variant Main Image URL

Manufacture GTIN

The Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) is a unique identifier for products used worldwide. Please refer to this website to verify the validity of a GTIN code.

Requirements:

  • Indicating a GTIN is mandatory for all branded products.
  • GTINs cannot be removed; they can only be modified.
  • If you encounter any errors while filling in this field, please double-check and adjust the formatting accordingly.

HS Code

The Harmonized System Code is used by customs authorities to classify traded products.

Color

Fill in this field only if your product variants vary in color.

Requirements:

  • Language: English.
  • You can indicate multiple colors separated by commas.
  • Please check if your color is included in the Joom list of accepted colors.
  • If it is difficult to determine the color, please fill in “as the picture” and provide the image URL (required).

Size

Fill in this field only if your product variants vary in size.

You can specify not only the size, but also other attributes that distinguish one option from another, such as the number of pieces or any other relevant detail.

Requirements:

  • Language: English only.
  • Maximum length: 50 characters.
  • Format: XS, S, M, L, XL, etc.

Price (without VAT) 

Requirements:

  • Your product price should be in dollars.
  • Use a dot as a delimiter, not a comma.
  • If you encounter any errors while filling in this field, please double-check and adjust the formatting accordingly.
  • Do not indicate the currency, only the numbers.
  • Please indicate prices without including the VAT amount. Joom will automatically calculate the VAT according to the country for each merchant.
